Hunger never takes a holiday or goes on vacation — you can make a huge impact anytime by donating food to the Community Action Food Bank.
With help from the community, local businesses, schools, religious groups, Scouts and individuals, we collect and distribute more than 3.5 millions pounds of food throughout Utah, Wasatch and Summit Counties.
Donations can be made by bringing items to the Community Action Food Bank located at 815 South Freedom Boulevard in Provo, Utah. In order to receive a donation receipt, donations must be made Monday-Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
For after hour donations, please use the donation drop box.
Hosting a Food Drive
Want to make an impact? Host your very own food drive. Conducting a food drive is simple and easy. Whether you want to hold a drive in your neighborhood, office, or school, we’ll help you with the right materials.
You can promote food donations by placing bags or boxes in your office for group members to donate. Also consider promoting cash donations in your drive. There are real costs associated with placing and picking up food barrels as well as the sorting, storing and distributing of food. We cannot fulfill Community Action’s promise to the community without money to run our operations and programs.

You don’t have to just donate food to Community Action. We gratefully accept In-Kind Donations.
You might also consider hosting a virtual food drive to collect money for the food bank. Virtual food drives allow friends and family to particpate without actually having to leave their homes. With our resources, we can turn a $1 donation into 17 pounds of food.
Community Food Drives
Pepsi Refresh Summer Food Drive – There will be plenty of events and opportunities throughout the summer to give and to make a difference in your community. Food drive donation bags will be distributed with the Daily Herald during the summer. Fill them up and take them to any Associated Food store in Utah or Wasatch Counties or any Friday night Orem Owlz game.
Alliance for Unity Food Drive – Saturday, September 29, 2012. Place your non-perishable food donations in a bag(s) outside your front door. Members of your local church group will pick-up the food and deliver it to Community Action Food Bank or the drop-off locations at any Walmart.
Scouting for Food Drive – Scouts from throughout Utah and Wasatch County will be collecting food donations on Saturday, March 23, 2013 to help secure food for pantries that are low on resources. The food that is collected will be used to help struggling families in Utah and Wasatch Counties.
Letter Carrier’s Food Drive – Held the second Saturday in May, this partnership relies on the National Association of Letter Carriers. Place your non-perishable food donation in a bag by your mailbox. Your letter carrier will deliver it to the Community Action Food Bank.
Grow a Row – The food bank is always in need of fresh nutrient-filled food. If each gardener were to add one extra row to their garden and donate the fruit and vegetables they grow there, we would have a much greater supply of fresh produce. This is a simple act that can have a large affect on those who rely on the food bank. Some organizations, like Provo City, have donated space that was used for planting flowers for their employees to grow produce for the food bank.
