Family Opportunities

Volunteering as a family provides a great opportunity to build relationships with each other and to teach children of all ages the value of service.  At Community Action Services and Food Bank, we have many opportunities to help your family learn about poverty and serve others. For more information on any of these opportunities contact the volunteer coordinator at VC@CommunityActionUC.org.

Family Activity Night “Kids Who Care”

Family Activity Nights take place Monday nights from 6:30-8 p.m. This is a free, interactive evening to teach parents and their children about local poverty and how they can help in our community (activities include service activity and tour of the food bank). There is no age limit for the children. Reservations are required. To reserve a spot for your family please email the volunteer coordinator at VC@CommunityActionUC.org. Thanks!

Join the Circles Initiative

The Circles Initiative gives an opportunity for families in the community to work with families with low-income who are working to move out of poverty. There are many ways to get involved. For questions call Joan Dixon at 801-691-5285.

Our other programs are helping more than 75 families a day. You can help by hosting your own Hunger Meal in your home.
