What is the Circles Youth Development Program?

The Circles Youth Development Program (recently changed from the Junior Leadership Program) is focused on helping youth become successful in adulthood. This includes learning about healthy relationships, finances, and life skills! Our goals are to help teens:

  • Create financially centered SMART goals
  • Create a 5-year plan that includes graduating from high school

The healthy relationship discussion will include the topics of consent, boundaries, and communication.

Who Can Participate?

Ages 12-18

This program sounds like it is more for older teens than younger ones. My 12-year-old isn't interested in learning about financial concepts. How would this be applicable?

It is understandable to be concerned about the material being taught. We have a vision for our program to have enough participants so we can split the age groups: 12-15 and 16-18. This way, we can adapt our activities to better for the ages we are teaching. That means we need more participants, both younger and older! So bring everyone along!

Why should I join?

Circles is a National Program, acclaimed for helping families make lasting connections and create goals to exit poverty. Our Circles Youth Development Program is to achieve the same goal: help teens avoid poverty altogether by preparing for the future.

How long is the program?

It is a 12-week course that will consist of meeting once a week for 30-45 minutes, depending on the location.

What if my teen can’t participate right now?

Our teens program is constantly recruiting. If this semester doesn’t work for your family, we can have you join another time. Fill out the registration below so we can know when best to contact you about this opportunity.
